Update By: James "I Don't Like to Copy People but Sometimes I Have to in Order to Prove Absolutely Nothing" Owens

Something Awfully Familiar

You can tune a piano, but you can't tuna fish because if I ever catch you even thinking about trying to tuna my fish I'll fucking stab you through the ear with a phone antenna.

People and their accusations these days...

Some newb: you taking your site down
Sandman: nah, just won't be wasting much more time updating it. don't have much to write about, and it doesn't get hardly any visits anymore.
Some newb: i liked it when you went from just angry to really funny and angry
Some newb: like that thing about your grandma
Sandman: SomethingAwful kind of brought on the transition for the most part
Sandman: I love comedy sites. they give me something to read when I'm bored.
Some newb: ya
Some newb: i read sa too
Some newb: you like to rip them off?
Sandman: can't say that I do
Some newb: haah
Some newb: you dont like it but you do it anyway then
Some newb: thief

Oh, come on now. That's just being dumb. What could I possibly have ripped from SA on this site? I can tell you the answer, and that answer may very well be nothing.

I received an email today asking a question and I figured I'd address here, since I haven't updated in a week or so.

you have a nice site, pretty funny sometimes,, but i cant tell if your joking or being serious about some things. your either rich or your poor, which is it? like, you say you dont have any money some times so you have to eat pancakes and beef jerky, but every item listed in your pc parts is very expensive. are you broke because you spend it all on computer stuff? or do you just not have time to buy food? are you just saying that so you have something funny for your website?
I'm not poor and I'm certainly not rich - not in the least bit. As for why my computer is so expensive and I eat ramen noodles for lunch and dinner, I was depressed for a while and I needed something to take my mind off of things.

My grandfather (whom I've lived with for most of my life) died, cutting off a lot of our income; my grandmother was forced to sell our old house for much less than what she had hoped for to the point where we probably won't be able to pay off our current house, and she won't be able to retire for quite some time, and I'm having to pay for most of the bills myself; my car is a rolling pile of shit that doesn't seem to want to work despite my best efforts to get it fixed; I take way more shit at work than what I'm used to; my dad is the most hypocritical and contemptable asshole I know and he spends his days pissing my whole family off in between being an idiot and being an even bigger idiot; my best friend's grandfather is slowly dying; my house and yard are steadily deteriorating and I'm not home enough to maintain them; I can't sleep very well because of neck pains; I'm trying to get back in school but I don't have the time or the funds, and they canceled my scholarship.

So, I spent some money I had set aside on computer parts, just to keep my mind off all that stuff. Instead of worrying about shit, I just kept buying additional parts until every component on my computer was upgraded, and then some. It's expensive, but it's healthier than drugs. I didn't spend it on my car because I don't have the tools and equipment to work on it myself. Now I don't have any extra cash lying around, so I spend my paycheck on gas, repairs and bills, and that doesn't leave much. I thought about asking for my bonus that I was promised a while ago so I could set it aside and save for a more reliable vehicle, but apparently I'm "overpayed," "useless," and "replaceable" now, so it probably wouldn't be a good idea to ask for anything. :p

It's all good though; I need to go on a diet, anyway.

I'm about done with this site. My hits seem to have peaked on November and have been rapidly decreasing. Not too many people visit this site anymore, and I don't have much time to update it with anything but these bullshit "news" updates. Oh well, it was fun for a while.

Added another PC parts review to the reviews section of the text archives. It's more of just showing off my badass system than it is a review, though..

I'll make it up later by doing an update on my legendary and long-lost root beer review. Some jackass deleted it from the old CD site, and that jackass is probably me.

Since Machine Prophecy is long dead due to lack of interest by all parties of former involvement, I've executed a permanent sojourn for my Final Darkness story to the machineprophecy.com domain. I've also changed the name to match the address, and with it the premise of the story. I've begun turning the story to HTML format, thinking it'd be a quick process of cutting and pasting. Then I realized that it looked like shit like that, so I put it into tables. This took me all damn day to do. Stop trying to click on that because it's not a hyperlink. Click here instead, you dolt. Or don't, because it's a lot of reading and it's pretty stupid, and you most likely won't enjoy it even if you enjoy reading a lot of pretty stupid things, such as the things that I write. I would have the whole story done by now but I have to write it while I'm at the place of my employment, and in order to perpetuate my payment I have to do this loathsome thing called work. I don't know if you're very familiar with this work thing, but trust me, it sucks because it takes up too much time that I could be spending on writing stupid things and trying to remember what the antonym of persuade is so I can write "trying to both persuade you and (insert antonym of persuade here) you to read my stupid writings in the same sentence." But then I would have to go back and change it because it wasn't in the same sentence, but rather in two consecutive sentences.

Got a new case: black Coolermaster Wavemaster.

Costs more than I'd like it to, but it's well worth it. The picture really doesn't do it justice. It's built like a tank, but it's light and very stylish. And it's almost as big as my Chieftech case. Very cool, especially if you're like me and you're tired of overdone mods like windows and cathodes.

Also got a few new games to ease my boredom: Soul Calibur 2 and The Legend of Zelda: Windwaker. Soul Calibur is cool for the first twenty minutes you play it, then it's pretty boring. Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance still wears the crown for being the best fighter. Windwaker, on the other hand, has managed to hold my interest for two evenings thus far. I love the cell shading. It's like Escape from Monkey Island drawn in Adobe Illustrator...sort of. Also, the dialog is 10x better than that of Ocarina. They actually gave some personality to the characters this time around. The only thing I haven't really liked so far is that stupid baton. Makes Link look like a fag, and that outfit of his isn't helping much, either.

I purchased a new camera the other day. It's a Kodak something, and I got it on sale so it didn't deplete my bank account by too much. A few practice shots, just to see how well the pictures turn out using the various modes:

Terry (standing) and Ben with landscape mode, or whatever it's called that's supposed to be for far-away things. Turned out blurry.

Me with night mode, so it's a little bright.

Bottles of Jones with close-up.

Josh's (my brother, aka Imperium) default Starcraft position being applied to D2 with normal mode.

Shot of the room from my couch in old-style coloring (name escapes me at the moment).

Terry sleeping on the couch with normal mode.

Shot of my cramped cubicle at work with normal mode and no flash. Little blurry, but not too bad.

It also does video with audio. I got a few recordings of driving on the way home from work but evidently I deleted them.

Apparently someone is using a URL spoofer, because there's no way in hell..
